Hertfordshire prices vary widely by town and property type, broadly running from £320,000 to £650,000 across the county. Fast-commute towns such as Welwyn Garden City and Watford, with their direct lines into London, have traditionally sat toward the upper half of that range, while we don't yet have reliable figures for every individual town we cover — where that's the case, our town pages use this honest county-wide range as a fallback. Nationally, the average UK house price rose 1.4% over the year to July 2026, with the East of England slightly ahead of that at £337,518.
