What our cover actually means, in plain terms — not just a number on a stats band.
Insurance is one of the questions we get asked most, and it deserves a straight answer rather than a single stat on a stats band. Here's exactly what's in place on every move, and how it works.
This covers damage to the property itself — walls, floors, doorframes, banisters — caused during the move. On top of the policy itself, our crews use protection covers on floors, doors, banisters, sofas, dining chairs, mattresses, TVs and garment carriers as standard, specifically to avoid needing to make a claim in the first place.
This covers your belongings while they're in our care — loaded, in transit, and being unloaded. The £100,000 figure is the overall level of cover carried on every move as standard, regardless of the size of the job.
We don't ask you to value or itemise your belongings before your move — there's no pre-move valuation process for antiques, art, high-value electronics or anything with sentimental weight. If something is ever damaged, it's assessed and dealt with at that point under our standard Goods in Transit cover.
As with any goods-in-transit policy, there are items and situations that sit outside standard cover — this is worth asking about directly during your home visit so you know exactly where you stand before moving day, not after it.
Report it to the Herts & Essex office as soon as you notice it, and we'll deal with it directly — this is exactly what the cover exists for, and we'd rather you raised it than not.
Every move is carried out by vetted, uniformed crews, briefed in detail by the consultant who planned your move — not day labour picked up for the job.
